WOW FACTOR? Yes. Rustic picnic tables looking over the Sacramento River - great for a leisurely lunch with friends. But best to sit in the chairs! HAVE AGAIN: French fries. NOT HAVE AGAIN: The famous beer-battered tacos were just ok. Next time have something else

I love Swabbies!!! I have been a frequent visitor here for almost 20 years. Every time I visit friends in Sacramento, I try to arrange visits near holidays to coincide with Swabbies special "holiday" Bloody Marys (spendy but worthy and photogenic) . Depending on holidays, the toppings of their Bloody Marys changes. St Patrick's Day generally has corned beef, 1/2 Scottish Egg, cabbage, potato. This past Labor Day 2024, the Bloody Marys included a shrimp skewer, part of a Dungeness Crab, peperoncini, olive, bacon and standard celery stick! The must order is Swabbies shredded beef tacos! You get 2 to an order (a bit spendy but definitely worthy) and be sure to request their special green salsa - no pix as I split with my foodie friends and were devoured before I could locate my camera. Big plus is the road to Swabbies (Garden Highway) is accessible from Sacramento International AirPort! Do Not miss this venue as it is located right along the Sacramento River. Please check their well managed website as they do close during off season. Our server, Josh, for this past Labor Day was the poster picture of old school service! Thanks Josh! Great photo ops of various male and female pirate statues!

Wonderful service and food. Really enjoyed the breeze off the river and the view. I'm sure it can get very rowdy, but we hit it a bit late and it was very peaceful.

Still a fave and flavors I crave! Came home for a short time and was hungry when we landed. Called some tacos in (after checking my notes to remind myself I live for shredded beef here) while renting the car and was off to the races. Food was ready when I arrived, lady was super sweet and filled my bottle for me as well. Get the green sauce!!! It makes the tacos really pop. When I eat here I swear I use a bottle lol. Surprisingly all the times I went when we lived here, my mom never went! She LOVED the tacos and is still talking about them. This ladies favorite words are, "it's ok". We did chicken and shredded beef. She loved and is still talking about both. She asked how they're so good! The Parmesan? The flavors of the meat? The green sauce? Idk but they're some of the best tacos goin. Wish I'd had time to sit and take in the scene. Flavors are the exact same they've been all these years and I'll be back and craving them in the meantime.
